ABOUT ME
My approach to vocal training is focused on the heart and mind behind the voice. It is from our deepest self that the voice is released. As singers we must develop our hearts, minds and voices. It is imperative that all three areas are aligned and developed. Training the voice must also be very technical. The muscles of the voice need to be trained and developed much like an athlete. When this occurs the technique becomes automatic and provides the singer artistic freedom.
Rachel is an experienced singing voice specialist, she has worked with professional voice users of all kinds, singers, teachers, pastors, and coaches. Mrs. Nyetam has been successful working with singers experiencing vocal injury, facilitating rehabilitation. She holds an undergraduate degree in vocal performance from Anderson University, as well as a masters degree in vocal performance and vocal pedagogy from Belmont University. Currently, she is writing her dissertation on the development of Trauma Informed Voice Studios and anticipates graduating from the University of North Texas with a Doctoral of Music Arts degree in 2024. Rachel has taught for 15 years at the university level, and enjoys the creativity of working with a wide variety of vocal styles. As an innovative teacher who tailors her teaching style to the needs of each student, it is important to Rachel that each student leave the lesson empowered and equipped to use their voice to its greatest potential.
